Ah ha! I caught them collecting themselves in the field.......

It is becoming quite the usual site to find my dear LARGE feathered friends either crossing the road to this field in front of me, or all together on the other side just gathering. They are so ugly they are cute. And they are just so big and clunky...... they are funny to see running.
Today I have to do my grocery shopping for the week, but I feel totally uninspired as to what to make for dinner. I am getting really lazy and don't want to make a fancy dinner since I would much rather knit....... but I know something other than hamburger helper would be great too. The sun is out and it looks so nice and warm outside, but it is still only about 20 degrees. It is suppose to be really nice tomorrow..... can't wait.

Davy Jones dead on 2/29/2012

Davy Jones died on 2/29 at the age of 66. Wow. I was a little shocked because Peter Tork has been battling cancer and I never thought that one of the guys would go before Peter!
So, it is strange to think they were so much a part of my life as a teenager but as I grew up and had my own family etc. they became just a part of my memory like Chatty Cathy, my trolls and the Monkees. I feel bad, don't get me wrong, he left family and friends.....my prayers go out to them. But I think I am going to be okay even if all four of the Monkees were to pass away today. I find that as they grew up (they were only in their 20's) and their lives evolved and I became more involved I found myself totally non interested. Michael became a horrific liberal, Peter always was..... only Micky and Davy seemed to go on with their lives and become more than just pompous asses. I don't know where Davy's heart was in regards to Jesus Christ, so I can't even say "See you on the other side." And honestly, I am not going to loose any sleep over it. Thanks for the memories!

Another sign of spring coming........even with a winter storm warning out!

On my way to work I make it kind of a point to gaze around and find signs of Spring... mostly because that is what my heart is looking for! I almost gave up hope because I was coming into the city limits and in a cut down corn field and small flock of snow buntings took off the ground and flew in formation as buntings do..... over the hood of my car.
It was nice to see, especially knowing that we are currently under a winter storm warning for most of Wednesday. Sigh.

GALLIPEAU/PIPP THANKSGIVING SINCE 1946

I never posted this back in November 2010 - and I want to now. For most of my life this is what I remember - Nan's birthday and Nan and Grandpa's anniv. celebration. I love this picture. It is taken at my parent's home. Sometimes we went to my grandparent's home for Thanksgiving.

Signs of Spring......and an attitude change

So I thought that maybe it would cool to start sharing all the signs of spring that my heart searches for during these late winter months. Since we had such a mild and blessed winter the spring sign that I took a picture is showing up a little earlier than normal.
I had good prayer time while driving to work and am trying very hard to make changes in my attitude, my words, my deeds etc. I am no longer going to search all over the internet for horrible stories - the world is full of darkness, distruction and just plain evil and I need to stay positive, happy, filled with the goodness of Christ and how can I have a positive attitude and speak of Christ's goodness when I have my head stuck in the events and darkness of this world? I am working hard to let no negative words flow out....about people, things or certainly no negative opinions which NO ONE needs right?

Knitting my foolish fingers off!

I am turning into a knitting mad woman! Making great progress on the helmet hat - actually ran out of wool and I will be leaving here in an hour or so to go to Joanne's to get the rest of the wool to finish this helmet hat. I am sooooo darn close! I already have a project for the left over wool! I have also started and will probably finish tonight - a pattern I got off someone's blog. It is called a barn bag.
This is really cute and fast to work up. In this picture it is made with cotton wool, but I think with the left over wool from the helmet hat I am going to make another one of these bags only bigger and then felt it and see what happens. I am starting to get brave aren't I? I have to find someone who wants to buy or trade for sock yarn. I really have no desire to make socks again.....well, at least fingering weight. It's off to Joanne's - never need a reason to stop and smell, touch and buy yarn!
